Maria, As a pre-op, I've eaten the heck out of sugar free candy and it tears me up! I stay on the toilet! So, I learned to have a piece here or there. I like the Reese cups and hershey's mini candy bars. You can get them at walmart in the candy aisle for about $1.50/bag... I don't know if I would eat them post-op though... I don't know how I would react to it. Plus sf candy still has plenty of unwanted calories. I don't think your surgeon would approve April

To much sugar free anything will cause (as my daughter used to say) dia-poo poo.

Hi I tried them pre-op and they were ok, I can handle regular candy in small amounts and it doesn't affect my diabeties at all. I carry with me the low carb hersey bars, just incase I have a sugar attack. But even then I can only have a small piece. I am able to eat spice jelly beans with no problems. You'll find it's trial and error. So don't go out and start buying a bunch of stuff as you may not like it. Best of luck, Kathy
