I have to be at the hospital at 6:00 on Tuesday. I am the first surgery of the day..... My only question is begining tomorrow I am on full liquids, carnation breakfast 6 times a day plus my water.....I am going to float away.

lol oh ok... it's Monday lol I've heard most people are required to do liquid diets before surgery to shrink the liver. It allows the doctor to work inside more efficently and effectively. I've heard of people having to do it for 2 weeks...so you got it easy! If you get tired of the carnation thing, I've read of some people doing some broths, fat free sugar free popsicles, jello, etc. good luck!

Glad to here this is normal procedure.......I told my employer I would just move my office in the bathroom, since they also wanted me to drink my water on top of that.....HAHAHA!!!!! Did they do a routine liver biopsy on you?......Cigna does not pay for a routine biopsy so I was curious.....I know Kip Kat and I use the same Dr.....so if you could let me know I would appreciate it.......

Hi Lisa, try chicken broth strain the noodles from soup, tastes better then the broth from a can or a boulion cube. They are nasty. Sugar free jello, water, or crystal lite lemonade. It's a water product, and that way you will still get in your fluids. I only had to be on it for three days, but each little bit helps. I was on liquids for three weeks afterwards. Chinese Wonton soup, chicken soup drain the noodles, sf jello, now I have the popsickles but I don't like them. Apple juice in the mornings only, water or crstyle lite the rest of the day plus protein. Your nutrionist is the one who will be telling you want you can and can't eat. When you have questions about food, she's the one you will need to ask, as each of us have different nutrionists. I have to see mine again next Thursday evening. Hopefully I will find out when I can advance to something besides soft foods. Best of luck come Tuesday. Kathy
