new on here
hi, just wanted to say hello and i have been reading on here for a couple months while i was waiting to see if i could get approved for the lab-band surgery , and i'm still waiting ,but dr.compton nurse said i should have a date within the next 4 weeks ,,,cant wait,,, well i look forward to talking to all of ya'll ,,may need some support thru all of this
also is there anyone here in west tn that has used Dr.Compton?
Hi Teresa, Had the gastric bypass in January here near Knoxville, and I don't regret it for a moment. There are others on here that has had or will be having on March 6 the lapband, you might be able to get more answers from Lisa W. She just wrote to postings one on action, and the other that she has her date. Best of luck to you, Kathy
Welcome to the boards.....and to the world of lap band......hopefully your wait won't be much longer.....I understand your frustration....I applied to BCBS before Christmas and was denied due to the need for more information, but I believe they were just putting me off as my insurance was changing......I reapplied to CIGNA in February and was approved in a few days....never give up hope.....learn all you can from these boards.....I was a lurker for a long time before I got the courage up to post.....but the members of this and the lapband board have been wonderful.....They have answered my questions, listened to my fears and given me the encouragement to go through with the surgery, when everything was falling apart.....Use the boards, learn from them, don't be afraid to ask questions...The only stupid question is one that is not asked....if I can every help you, please let me know.
I am in Middle Tennessee and am using Dr. Willie Melvin, my sister had lapband surgery in Memphis at the Baptist Hospital and said everything was wonderful.....she has lost 100 pounds in 18 months.......
