Hi everyone my name is Beverly: can someone please let me know how to see if medicare or Tenncare will cover the cost to have the surgery done ? My weight now is 250lbs and climbing and have back problems which i have to go to pain clinic for meds to help manage the pain any advice will be appreciated.

Hi, I was told TennCare still pays, the best way would be to call the # you have for Tenncare. I think they have tightened up on requirements some, so be ready..you might have to do a 6 mo. documented diet with your PCP. Good luck, Billie

Medicare paid for my RNY at Vanderbilt Hospital. Did not have one problem! good luck

Hi Beverly; I just got my approval from Medicare. I had no problems at all getting approved. I had a BMI of 41 with medical complications and documentied medically supervised dieting and mine was approved almost immediately. My surgery has been set for Mar 21. I don't think you should worry. Ron
