Support Group?

I am a new member and I am so glad that I found this website. It gives me great motivation and the support here is terrific. I have not had WLS yet but I am looking to. I have finished with all my necessary testing and my file is being submitted to my insurance for approval this week (I hope). This website definitely lets me know that I am not alone with all that I have been through. I am considering joining a regular support group along with becoming active on this site- especially if I get approved for surgery. Does anyone here attend a support group they can recommend in the Nashville area? The hospital I use is Vanderbilt but before I start with their support group I wanted to find out if there was any specific support group that the members from this site use. Thanks!

Howdy Misty!!! I am going to Vandy too...Who's your Doc? Mines Dr. Wright!! This site is cool...I visit another one a lot too...but I like the idea of talking to people on this side of the country and being in the samr county is even better! I was wondering if there is a local group too...That would be sooo great! You are most assuredly not alone! I am actually having a revision from band to bypass so I have already been through this once..aarrgghhhh! But life is worth it! So, you are playing "THE WAITING GAME" right now? I drove myself nuts over waiting.. It sounds like you have the right mind-set for it. You are gonna do great! Hi Misty, just wanted to wish you good luck. I haven't heard of any support groups other than the ones sponsored by the hospitals. If you hear of any...let me know! I love this website as well.... its been so informative and motivational! If you need anything, just holler! ~april~
