White Blood Count

Hi my friends, I had my first of many labworks done today. I have been on the chemo pills for one week. Before I started on chemo my white blood count was 37,000, today it's 50,000. Remember normal is from 4000 to 10,000. White blood cells fight off infections of the body. My red cells and protein are still in the normal range. I will find out more next Wednesday when I see the Oncologist. My PCP is also referring me to another one for a second opinion. To make sure this Dr. is doing everything possible for me.
