First appointment scheduled!!!

Well, I have my first appointment scheduled. I am so affraid that the surgeon will say that I am not a candidate for the surgery (LapBand). I have a BMI of 38.2 and am about 93 lbs overweight. I am miserable though. I am only 24 and I feel like I am much older. I have severe joint pain, back pain, I am tired ALL the time, and I can barely get through the day with my boys (ages 3 and 10 months). I think I just need some encouragement as I wait for this first visit. I go on June 9th. I am ALWAYS taking care of somebody else and I have finally made the decision that this is what I want and it is something I have to do for myself. Everybody on this site is just great! I am so glad I found you!!

Congratulations Mary! It is always important to take care of yourself too. You have to remember that in order to be there for your loved ones, you have to be the best that YOU can be for yourself in order to be the best for them. Boy that sounded kinda jumbled but I hope it makes sense! hehe Anyways, just wanted to wish you luck and to say: WELCOME!!! Tammy

'Hang in there Mary. It's good that we are planning to do something (WLS) for us instead of always thinking of others and putting ourselfves last. I feel the body pain too and look forward to getting some relief (and being able to go places and not worry if I will fit in their seats or not). Take care.
