Just a thought for the day..
Good Morning to all of you.
When we begin this journey we soon realize that it is not always easy as I am sure you all know from experience. But this site is truly amazing and can be such a source of encouragement and strength when we need it.
This past week has been a tough one for me but thanks to an unbelievably kind friend, he has shown me that no matter how difficult it is at times, our friends are so very important in this process!! Sometimes just a note to say hey I am praying for you, or I am thinking of you, can make all the difference in the world to our state of minds!
There are so many ups and downs to this process and no matter where you are personally in your journey, I hope you all have the strength of heart to reach out to SOMEONE when you need it..it is so important..both pre-op and post-op!
I hope you all have a great day, and that every thing goes smoothly for each of you in wherever you are in your own journeys.
If anyone needs an email penpal, feel free to email me anytime.
God Bless Each and every one of you today and everyday!
hugs,
Dawn
Truer words were never spoken! The ups and downs are rough. I had my surgery in Feb. and just came back to work the first of this month. It was really rough on me. I have lost 50lbs and just stopped. I haven't lost a pound in over two weeks. I'm not sure what I need to do to get this thing jump started again. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Debbie,
First of all I want to say CONGRATULATIONS on the 50lbs you have lost.. that is really amazing in just 2 mths time! I know it can be so frustrating when we don't see the scale move for a while..it is the same for me..I have been hovering between 305 and 300 for over a week now so I know what you are talking about! What everyone has told me is just be sure to get the water and protein in and walk walk walk..I know that doesn't help much but don't lose heart Debbie..you are doing so well!! You should be proud of yourself..this is NOT easy! The silly scale WILL move again!
Keep your chin up!
hugs,
Dawn
someone did tell me once that they broke plateaus by going back on liquids for a week. ?

Thanks Dawn. I guess I will just have to increase my protein. That is the hardest part for me. Drinking all these fluids is tough. Sometimes I get sick just thinking abou****er!! LOL I was on fluids much longer than the average person because I was so sick after my surgery. I don't know if I could stand to go back to fluids now. I have only just begun to eat half way normal in the last two weeks. I still can't get the five small meals a day. I am lucky if I can eat more than four bites twice a day. I know I need to be eating more than I do, but I get sick. My doctor gave me a prescription for phenergan jelly to rub on my wrist. He said it didn't matter if my stomach was large or small, I had a very weak stomach. I get sick so easy. But I would still do this all over. Just 50 lbs has made a world a difference in me. I am off all blood pressure medicines and I no longer snore at night. I haven't used my CPAP since my surgery. And I sleep wonderfully. I know my hubby sleeps better now!!
Hi Dawn, thank you so very much. May I say, I am so proud of you. I know the fight you had to go thru. Your adivce is so true. I appreciate you letting others know it. Right now I am on a back burner, just trying to get moved over towards Nashville. I feel like I am coming and going. So surgery has been put on hold for the time being. Just wanted to thank you for the lovely words, and to say i am proud of you. Love Kathy
