I am five days post-op

Hi all. Thanks to everyone who sent encouragement and prayers my way. What a blessing to have this special site to meet and chat about the pros and cons of wls! My surgery was at Vanderbilt on Wednesday. I came home on Friday. I think the biggest pain I had was the six times they stabbed me to get a vein. Doc Richards ended up putting in a cental line in my neck. I have gas pain and a tiny bit of discomfort but otherwise doing so great. The nurses and doctors treated me pretty much like I was a celebrity and my hospital room was the best.

Hello Wilda, i am glad you are home an feeling better and yes this is a great support site.we are pretty much nieghboros i live in Thompson Station.so maybe we can help support each other.i had the lap band but we are still doing about the same things as far as our diet and exercize.maybe we will meet soon.they have a support group at WMC that i would like to start as soon as i fell a little better.hope to talk to you again. Hiya Wilda and congratulations on your rebirthday! Glad to hear things are going smoothly for you. It does get better with every passing day. I had a central line as well. There is one tiny scar left on my neck that you can barely see if I point it out lol. The gas pain was the most difficult for me but only lasted a few days. Keep walking, it helps. Hey Wilda, congradulations. One of the ladies on this site, though she doesn't post often had Dr. Richards. She had hers in July. But she wouldn't change anything. She's glad she had her surgery by him. Can't wait to hear how much you have lost. Best of luck wild lady. Kathy
