Survived my first holiday feast
Today at work we had our annual Thanksgiving eat-in. I was sooooooooo dreading this as I have yet to find a way to kill my brain telling me things like "You're so hungry, Kelly", "Doesn't that pie smell good; go on, try a small bite, not everyone dumps", and so on and so forth. I ended up having a small piece of the ham and a smaller piece of turkey, about a spoonful of dressing with a smidge of homemade crandberry sauce, and a spoonfull of mixed veggies with cheese sauce. I was full and didn't feel cheated.
On other fronts, I saw Dr. Wright last week and he has given me 3 weeks to get off the tube feedings and sustain myself completely by what goes in my mouth or he is going to scope me. That alone was enough to make me quit putting anything other than some water per my tube. I don't think I'm getting all my protein in nor water, but I am plugging away at it.
I weighed today at Curves and am down 36.5 lbs since the day before surgery and have lost 3 inches on my waist, 2.5 inches from lower abs, and an inch from my hips and my arms. I caught a virus last week and missed working out for a whole week but am back at that again, too.
I just wanted to post an update and wish you all the happiest and safest of holidays.
Kelly
Hi Kelly, congrads on the weight loss. Sounds like you didn't deprive yourself and still able to participate in the office dinner. That's great in it self. I do hope you can get off the tube feedings soon. I know you will love to see them go.
Have a healthy Thanksgiving, with prayers and love, Kathy
