where is everybody at ???

where is everybody at there use to be a lot of new post to read and people to talk to but now there is not a lot of post and not that many people have they found another web site or somthing kristie

Hi Kristie! I cant speak for anyone else since this is my first visit here in a while, but for myself, i've just been busy. I had major knee surgery on 11/5 and this is my first time online since. My knee caps are too far to the outter portion of my legs and causing grinding of the bones. So I underwent patellar realignment on my right leg. Its been a nightmare so far. Basically the knee cap was disconnected from the ligaments, damage was shaved off, some bone was cut then moved over and screwed back down with two screws. I have a few small lap incisions but two large incisions about 3-4 inches long. My mobility is extremely limited. I'm doing physical therapy twice weekly and I have to wear a brace 24/7 for 4 weeks, then i'll be allowed to take it off at night only for the last two weeks. To make matters worse, I was released from my job over this surgery. I was told that because I didnt have enough vacation time to cover more than last week, if I didnt come to work this morning I was without a job. You would think they would have had the decency to tell me this PRIOR to the surgery. So things just arent going my way at the present time. Anyway, thats where i've been. Sorry to climb on the soap box but it sure felt good to vent. I hope things are far better than this for everyone else. May God bless each of you daily! Love you guys! Melanie

Oh, Mel, that's horrible. If your surgery falls under FMLA, I don't think it's legal for them to let you go. Check into that, hun and I am praying for a speedy and less painful recovery. Kelly

Hi Mel, I agree with Kelly, also check with the Board of Labor. I think it's illegal to fire someone because they had to have surgery. Check it out. You may be able to sue them over this, or they may be forced to pay you back pay. Mom did this and they were forced to not only get her back pay, but they had to hire her back with a raise. Hi Jack---- Hi melanie,it is good to hear from you,i haven't see you on here in a while either.Sorry about your job,that is just not right yah they should have told you before the surgery.I had the dr to tell me i needed a knee replacement not looking forward to that.I am putting it off for as long as i can.I met with Dr Houston he is just great.I can't wait for this surgery now,soon i will be a loser to.Hope you feel better real soon. Melanie bless your heart !! I am so sorry all this is happening to you. I don't think they can do that to you either. I had to do the FML thing because of my problems after surgery after my doc said no work everything was fine I could have stayed out 12wks. You vent anytime you want and I wish I could help !! Kristie, Hiya, hun. How did your appt go last week with Dr. Wright. I was really hoping you'd make it to group. I've been busy busy here getting ready for friends who are flyinf in this Thursday for the weekend. I also began working out at Curves last week and it takes my energy. I've also went shopping a couple times as my old clothes were beginning to fall off of me. I am officially into a size 24 or 2X as opposed to the 28s and 30s I wore prior to surgery. Kelly

I'm here Kristie, but like you said, no one is posting, none of the post-ops are ever on here anymore. I check it every night, and nothing is new. Have a great night, need to go, water pills are still in my system. LOL,, But I can fit into shoes now. Kathy

Hey Kristie, I am here to, just waiting for my surgery date 2 weeks from today. I am on the lap band board a lot more now but still drop in here to see who is posting and nothing new.I don't know where all the old posters are either. Eva

I check in every once in a while, bu there is always so little to read. I always go to the main board . But I always check in here to see if there is anything new.. Sheila
