I am considering weight loss surgery because now my company is getting the insurance that will cover the procedure. However, I am 5'1 and 215lbs my ideal body weight they say is 109-115lbs. If I loose 100lbs I'm scared my boobs will sag, and I have a big stomach I'm scared the skin will hang and my arms will be flabby. I guess what I want to know is, is it possible to loose 100lbs or so and still have nice looking skin?

When I started this journey I weighed 365 my goal is to get to 150 right now. The issue of excess skin never even crossed my mind. To me the benefit of being able to live healthier and do things I love weighed a whole lot more than my actual appearence. Besides if it gets to where the excess skin bothers me I can save up money and have plastic surgery. There is a lot that will determine how much your skin will sag. Age, length of time excessively overweight. condtion of skin etc...

If your health is not bad enough that you don't care at all whether you have extra skin or not, then you are not sick enough to have the surgery. My doctor says, "it's about your health, not about looking cute". You probably WILL have excess skin - we all do! But read the childrens' Little Golden Book called "The Saggy Baggy Elephant". I think it was written especially for us! At the beginning the baby elephant doesn't know anyone with saggy baggy skin like he does because he is an orphan. At the end he finds an elephant family and they are all happy to be together and dance off into the sunset. Now that I have lost so much weight I can dance too!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
