Here are the web addresses to write your Governor, and to read what is planned for TnCare. [email protected], and www.tennessee.gov/governor/tenncare.htm. I already wrote the Governor and hopefully this will help, if everyone who has tncare write the governor, this may help sway his decision. I have medicare for hospitals, tn state medicade, and tncare blue care for presciptions. I bring in $824 a month from Social Security and a Va pension. My medicines cost over $1600 a year. I can't afford to pay for them if blue care is dropped. I wrote on behalf of all obesity residents that by having this surgery, it will cut medicine costs down. I did what I could do. But I plead with y'all facing this problem to write, pass the website onto your families and friends who are on TnCare and have them write. Explain what it would cost just to get your medicines if the program is dropped, about the surgery and what it would cost after having the surgery in medications. I know I will go from 16 different bottles, not counting my breathing meds, and I know I will only be on 5 bottles after surgery. I do have a problem with the surgeries. I am in Grainger cty, tncare right now is only paying for surgery to an adjoining county, by surgeon is two counties over. We all need to work together to fight this. Hugs, Kathy

Well you know what really gets me is in the paper last week they stated that TN was either 47 or 48 in overall health. The only up note was the fact that more pregnant residents are getting thier prenatal care and that was because of TNCare. The people that did the ranking stated that even though we rank so low in overall health that TNCare has been assisting to change that and more people now are getting medical care that is needed. Can you just imagine when they do this ranking again and we don't have TNcare anymore. Also don't they realize that without being able to afford routine health care people are going to wait until things are so bad that it is considered an emergancy. Which is going to cost our citites and state more in the long run. Preventive care is way cheaper than emergancy care. I don't know. Ive been in insurance limbo since August thanks to a caseworker and now I don't know whats gonna happen. As I said before hopefully I can either get a decent job where I can afford my own health insurance or get a job that offers a good insurance plan after I graduate in Dec. Right now that seems to be my only hope. *huggles*
