Dr. Houston appt. Next Week. What can I expect?
Hey there Joe!
He will just sit down and talk with you about why you want this and he will explain the procedures and what he thinks is best for you, go over what your goals will be and just get to know you a little. Have a list of questions ready for him to answer, he likes that! He is a fantastic surgeon. I had mine done on Nov. 1st and I have lost 21 pounds already! I think you will really like Dr. Houston. Good Luck and God Bless!

Joe,
Dr. Houston is wonderful. I think you've made a good choice in surgeons
He will talk to you about everything. He really takes his time to answer all of your questions and he will ask you a lot about yourself. I never felt like he was rushed or that he was on a time scale, something that's kind of unusual with doctors these days. I really appreciated that he took the time to talk to me in detail.
Good luck to you and congrats on your decision to proceed with the lapband.

I have questions too, I am waiting for approval from my insurance company right now. I went to the seminar Oct 19th in Nashville @ Centennial...when I have my surgery, I am going to Centennial Medical Center also. Dr. Houston performed our seminar and a lady from here told me about Dr. Olsen as well. I don't really care who does the surgery as long as I can have it done. I've heard a lot of good things about Centennial. My question is...when I get approved, I'm assuming Lisa @ Centennial who is handling my case right now, will call me. (I'm sure I will also get a letter from my ins company). When I go for my first consult visit, will they set me up for another appt to have my psych eval & meet w/ a nutrionist. I live about 3 hours away. My insurance is also changing the first of the year and I'm hoping all of this could be settled before then. Another question...if my insurance now approves me for the surgery but it's too late to have the surgery before the change at the first of the year, will my new ins company honor the approval? Does anyone know?
Thanks, Tracy
