frustrated... not losing

It has been 2 months and 7 days since my WLS. I had been losing pretty steady since but the last 14 days I have only lost 3 pounds. It is very frustrating. I did start exercising to help with no luck. I have tried eating less and eating more still stuck. I have heard stories of people saying they weren't ever hungry for the first three months after surgery. I get hungry every couple of hours, I still can't eat very much yet. I usually drink 2 protein shakes and snack on protiens everyday. I am scared that I am doing something wrong and never going to lose this extra 150 pounds I have. Any feedback would be appreciated.... thanks.

from what I have read on the main boards plateaus are normal . and the fact that you are exercising more is good too, but remember that muscle weighs more than fat. I would not worry as much about the weight loss right now as the inchs you are losing. just keep following your doctors plan and I am sure it will pass eventually. I can imagine it is frustrating but this too will pass. have a great day. Joe

Hi Susann! I understand and can relate to your frustration. Please know that it is normal and happens to all of us at some point. I had a plateau that lasted 5 grueling weeks. When it finally ended I lost 10-12 lbs in a week. Your body goes through periodic adjustments. Its going to happen. Just keep up your protein and fluid intake, and it WILL pass. As for the hunger, i'm 4 months post op and still dont get actual hunger. Head hunger, now thats a different story. Call your surgeons office and discuss your nutritional issues with the dietician. It'll make you feel much better. God bless and best of luck to you! Melanie
