I read your profile. You said you have tenncare. If that is the case they will cover the psych evaluation. I have BlueCare and could refer you to the psych. I saw if you like. I live in Chattanooga. With him I had to go in for an initial consult. Then he had me come back for actual psych tests. Those took about 2 or 3 hrs. I then met with him one more time to discuss the results and to get his psych clearance letter. That was it. Also the psych consult is more than just a letter saying they saw you. Its a clearance saying that you are in the capcity of mind to make such a life altering decision. That you have the ability to understand the risks and depending on the surgeon it also states if you have the mindset to be complient after surgery. Hope this helps. *huggles* Also Im not sure what hoops tncare is making you jump through. With my begining of this my only problem was finding a surgeon. After that I did all the tests my surgeon wanted (sleep study, dietician consult, psych. eval.) she submitted her request for approval and Bluecare approved 24 hrs after she submitted it.
