Tenncare Medicaid

Did any one have Tenncare / Medicaid and got approved for Gastric Bypass?? Could you tell me the procedures.... How long did approval/denial take? What do I need to do prior to surgery? What is Tenncare requirements? Diet History required? Who is/was your surgeon? Let me hear YOUR story. I need some support and encouragement. THANKS!!!! dr wright at vanderbilt takes ur ins and he reuires different thing on different people but call his office and they can send u papers out hugs kristie

If Vanderbilt offers this surgery, then go there. It is a teaching hospital and I would go there in an instant. My family is in McMinnville, and I have told them if I am there and anything happens to me, take me to Vanderbilt or Saint Thomas. Rhonda from MI

I have BlueCare and the only thing they required was that it be medically nesacary. What you need prior to surgery depends on your surgeon. My surgeon had me do a sleep study ,a psych eval. and a dietician consult Pre op and then I had bloodwork done a week before my surgery date. I wasn't required to submit a diet history. My approval was given in 24 hrs after my surgeon submitted it. I also had a case manager with my insurance company. My surgeon is Dr.Hruska in Clarksville, TN.
