FIRST POST...
HELLO ALL
This is my first post to this message board. I am in the research phase of this whole thing, with my seminar coming in October at Centennial, I am leaning towards Dr Dyer...Would love any words of advice, wisdom or encouragement as I start this journey..I am very thankful for all of you and this website...God Bless....
Hello there and welcome to the OH family... I had my surgery on June 23, 2004 with Dr. Dyer and he was wonderful... He's not a very outspoken doc but he gives you all the information he has... and lets you ask any questions... The staff are very caring and helpful... Centennial is the best.. I loved it there... The nurses were great but try to have the surgery earlier in the week... weekend nurses there arent as many.... The rooms are big and spacious... very comfortable... I am very pleased with my experience with Dr. Dyer and Cenntennial.... And they also have a great aftercare program with the psychological aspect included... If you want to see my progress ... I went to Centennial's seminar and came straight home and filled out the paperwork and faxed it back to them at 3am. They were the logical choice for me. Dr. Houston was my surgeon. I was impressed with his confidence and experience doing Laprosocpic surger. He did a GREAT job with me. He had to spend 4 1/2 hours "unsticking" my intestines from each other and scar tissue (I'd had 7 previous hernia surgeries). I've had not nausea, vomiting and felt great. I think you can get your surgery scheduled a little faster with him. I went to seminar on 7/27 and had surgery 8/25. I would definintely recommend him OR anyone from Centennial. The hospital is great too. Lots of roomy chairs for us "big" folks. The bed was comfortable. The nurses were very attentive. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.
