I had surgery 9/13 at Vandy but my surgeon was Dr. Melvin. I would recommend both.

Dr. Wright did my surgery in June 2001. He is VERY straight-forward and no-nonsense (at least before the surgery - he does seem to grow a personality after!!!). He is an AWESOME surgeon, has a very low complication rate and has been doing RNY for over 10 years. I had a great recovery - I've NEVER been sick and I've lost 215 pounds. The nurses were great, too. Had wonderful care the whole time I was there.
