HELP ME PLEASE

OK I am having huge problems now.I can't find a surgeon that performs Lap Band surgery first of all....GRRR or that accepts my insurance which Is TLC MEDICAID.If anyone can help me please e-mail me at [email protected] you have had lap band in Memphis will you also e-mail me with name of doctor and phone number,so i can call them and maybe they accept TLC.I soo thought things were going to go smooth with this.I am scared now that I will not be able to get the surgery due to the fact I can't find a surgeon that does it or that accepts my insurance.

I have BlueCare and had to get a case manager with the insurance companyto find me a surgeon. All insurance companies have case managers. Just call the main number for your ins and ask them for the number to case management.My case manager was a godsend she found me a surgeon in less than a month whereas Id spent three months on my own trying to find one. However I know that my case manager told me that with bluecare they weren't covering lapband because they still consider it experimental. They would only cover RNY and occasionally D/S. Dear Wendy, I was interested at first with the lap-band surgery. I quickly found out that my insurance does not cover it at all (considered experimental). So I had to go the next best route Lap RNY. I am a patient with DR. WOODMAN in Memphis and when I called about attending his seminar his nurse Cyndi told me to contact my insurance to see what procedures they cover and ask who was consider "in-network". It made my choices a lot easier and by the way his office does the Lap-Band. Their number is 901-869-2000. Melissa
