I need help finding a doctor PLEASE

I have been researching WLS for over a year now and I have decided to go one step more and search for a doctor. My problem is that I can't find one who will do the surgery within 4 hours of my home. The ones I did find require me to stay in a motel for a week following surgery. I have medicare and Tncare as my insurance coverage. Has anyone on the board had surgery under these two insurance plans, and if so what Dr. performed the surgery. TIA!!!!!

well im in nashville and im not really sure how far you are from here.but i used a doc at vanderbilt but there are alot of doc doing it here at differnt hospitals.and yes my surgeon took tncare what kind do u have?

I have TNcare select which is with blue cross blue shield. I had left a message with a Dr. Wright who does surgery at Vanderbilt and his office returned my call just a few minutes ago. He does not accept TnCare but he accepts medicare. Has anyone heard of him? BTW thanks for the reply.

yes Dr Wright is in the same office as my surgeon from my understanding.from what i have heard he is good.

Check out Cenntenial Medical Center in Nashville. They have ads on this site - just keep an eye peeled. Not sure what their new web site is, but you could google them. I had surgery there with Dr. Dyer, but they have 3 surgeons and a dedicated program so it is worth checking out. Jules

I have Tenncare Select and I have Dr. Hruska. I did check out Centennial and they do have a great program and an excellent aftercare program. Unfortunately, my insurance, Tenncare Select does not accept them since they are 'out of network', but maybe with a referral from your pcp, it may work. I do not know about that. I just went with Dr. Hruska. She is very nice and I like her. I hope it all works out for you. Lisa

Hey Dr.Digby is in Elizabethton he does tncare &he is a great doctor he done my surgery 4/15/04 and i have lost 117 lbs and feeling like i have a new life.Sherry
