Drainage...

The infected spot on my stomach over part of my incision has opened up a small hole and started draining this morning. The drainage is yellowish. I will be finished with my antibiotic in the morning. What could this be that is draining? I'm thinking about calling my doctor in the morning. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Also...this is gross... but the drainage does not have an odor. Hi Julie, down 30# great going girl. Proud of you. It sounds like you had an abcess like a boil. As long as it's draining, you should be fine. If it gets worse call your Dr. also, have your iron checked, low iron can cause absesses too. The best way to clear it up is antibiotics. But usually when they burst open on their own, as long as it's draining, it will clear up and go away. Will call you when I get into Antioch next weekend. Hugs, kathy

Hi Kathy, Thanks. I called my doctor and they told me that it was fine as long as it doesn't start turning greenish or really thick and pus-like. They put me on another week of antibiotics. Hope to be able to meet with you when you come down. Take care. Julie
