Questions about Lactaid

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well. I am recovering, slowly but surely! I am still very weak! But the good news is I have lost 20 pounds!!!!! Here is my question: my nutritionist said I could start making my protein shakes with Lactaid, not milk, in case of lactose intolerance. Well, the Lactaid is even botherimg me! I have gone back to mixing them with water but this is bugging me! Am I never going to be able to use milk, even Lactaid?? Does lactose intolerance continue forever??

Try the 100% whey protein powder at the GNC store. It's got 20grams of protein per scoop and I mix it with 2 oz of water and 4-5 ice cubes and it almost tastes as good as chocolate milk. It may go down easier and you won't have to worry about the milk. Anne

Lisa have you tried skim milk? You may not have problems with it. Some people can't handle milk and have to be on Lactose, but if that is bothering you, try just a little skim milk. You may beable to tolerate it better. Hope you are feeling better soon. Kathy

good to see you posting lisa. have oyu tried the soy milk, or the new skim milk plus? skim milk plus has a thickener in it to make it more like regular milk. congratulations on the weight loss, 60 days and counting till my my surgery. by then you should be fairly skinny(g)
