Ok here goes...... I did more investigation about taking in the 60 grams of protein at one time. I spoke with our surgeon in the Trauma ICU that does all of our gastric cases and she told me that a gastric bypass patient can only absorb 30 grams of protein at one time. So this is what I have done... I take two ounces of cold water and 4 ice cubes and one scoop(20 grams of protein) and put it in a shaker bottle and then drink that three times a day. I want to get my protein in to help me increase my weight loss and I'm really not into drinking stuff that isn't going to do me any good. I can tell you that I am going to pin down Ginger when I see her on the third and tell her what Dr. Minard said about doing the 60 grams all at once. Thanks for all your information it really made me go investigate further. You guys are the greatest..... Anne

Thank you Anne!! You did great in finding the answer you need !! It just goes to show everybody is human and can make mistakes even professionals but I think you are right in letting Ginger know about hers and what you have found out!! What kind of protein do you use? Keep up the good work !! Have a great day Linda

It's called 100% Whey protein and one scoop is 20 grams of protein. It's 130 calories for each scoop and I mix it with 2 oz of water and 4-5 ice cubes. Anne

Hiya Anne! I'm so glad you got clarification on the protein. I knew that didnt sound correct. It only stands to reason that if we cant absorb anything at full amounts, that protein would be no different. And you're right, no point in drinking it if its not benefiting you. I'm very happy that you're breaking it up into three servings. Keep up the great work hon! God bless you! Melanie

Thanks Melanie, So how's the losing going? Did you ever talk to your doctor about the 600 calorie thing. That really doesn't sound like you're able to eat much at all. But it might not be too bad I probably don't eat much more than that even with the 390 calories in protein drinks that I do. I can tell you one thing though. I can tell that I"m losing faster again now that I"m getting the proper protein in. Talk to ya soon Anne
