Preop appt with Dr. Hruska got rescheduled.

I was supposed to go see Dr. Hruska today for my preop appt. They called my on the cell phone and told me they had to reschedule the appointment for next Thursday at 10:20am. She was still in surgery this morning. I was not too upset, but maybe a little. I guess it is for the best that it is next week. My middle sister had same day foot surgery today, so I got to be there. I had a cold last week and I am still recovering from that. I have no voice right now. I was asked to lose 20-30lbs from July 20th to my preop appt. I have lost 17lbs. So, I guess waiting next Thursday, August 26 would be better for me. I was just anticipating to go today, but it can't be rushed and what is one more week anyway. That way I can get over this cold that I have and lose 3lbs or more by next Thursday. I am glad they called me before I left for Clarksville, because it is a 2hr drive up there. Lisa

Hi Lisa, everything happens for a reason. Next week, you will feel better, and everything will go accordingly to schedule. I look at it this way, I've waited this long another month or two is not a long time. It will be cooler, the staph infection will be over, and my new grandchild will have been born. Fall is a good time for surgery. and for you a late summer. That way you can still get out and enjoy the day without the intense heat when walking. So Lisa, this reschedule is meant to be. THank you Kathy for the reply. I think it was a good thing that appt got rescheduled. I go next week for preop. This will be my second visit with Dr. Hruska. I wonder what will happen during that appt. Hmm. I guess I will find out next thursday. I am thinking from what I was told, surgery could happen in 2weeks after preop but I am not sure about this. Anytime after Sept 13 would be good, that way my husband can be with me at the hospital. THanks again for your support! This website has been wonderful! Hey Lisa I was hoping to hear that you had your date today But anyway, Things happen for a reason. I am supposed to go back to Dr. Hruska on August 24 So I will post and let you know what all they do.Did they say why they postponed your appt.? She did not tell me how much she wanted me to lose but I think I have lost around 10 Pounds so far ( I hope). Are you having the open RNY? I am my mother thinks that there are to many risks but I told her that the RNY was going to be the best for me because of the dumping syndrome.
