Here but quiet
Congrats to those of you who just had surgery (Julie, I am so glad you are feeling better)
I am reading posts but kinda in a down in the dump kinda mood about being no closer to knowing when I can have sugery than when I started. CIGNA is appealing my records and we are still waiting to hear from BC/BS after they recoded my initial request for pre-cert.
I finally got over being so angry about the whole mess when the depression set in. I did, however, go see the dietician yesterday and officially started another 6 month diet just in case I never get CIGNA to approve me with the first 6 month diet I did.
I know it's silly to be down because I cant get what I want right away, but I also have been in a lot of pain lately and having some muscle problems. The neurosurgeon I see is pretty sure my brain lesion is from a demyelinating disease such as Multiple Sclerosis, so I have weird muscle stuff crop up without any reason. Today's oddity is my neck feels like rubber and it hurts to hold my head up. Good news is I survived work and now I can dope myself up and sleep.
Just wanted to say why I had went from a "chatty cathy" to a "silent sara"
Best wishes and much love, Kelly
awww ((((((((((Kelly)))))))))) I think you need a hug. I'm so sorry to hear of the difficult time you're having with your insurance companies. Its hard to keep positive when you feel like life is kicking you in the teeth. I've plateaued for 5 weeks and have been very down myself. The important thing to remember is that even if you have to wait 6 months it WILL get here. Most good things in life dont happen fast enough. Thats part of life. I got an email today about a guy that was stranded on a deserted island. He prayed so hard that God would help him. After a couple of days of nothing happening he decided to gather some drift wood and make a hut to shield him from the elements. Once that was completed he went to look for food. Upon returning his freshly built hut was on fire and burned to the ground. He shouted up to the heavens "God why did you let this happen to me?" He was angry. Later that same day he was resting on the beach when he was awakened by the sound of a boat. It came to rescue him. When he asked how they knew he was there they replied "we saw your smoke signal". The moral: when bad things happen we often take them at face value, but in reality God is working in your life. When you feel like your hut is on fire, look up and thank Jesus, cause something good is bound to follow. Keep your chin up sweetie and your faith strong. Things will work out for you. God bless you!

Hi Kelly, I am sorry that things aren't moving as fast as you want them. Trust me when I say I really am sorry. There is a saying at the church I attended when I lived in WV. Always keep your fork after eating, the best is yet to come. So keep your thoughts and feelings on God, the best is yet to come. He is helping me to get thru all this mess just finding a surgeon to take me on. I know he will work with you to get the approval that you need. He may have something better planned and when he's ready you will know it. One day at a time, sweetie. I'll be coming to Nashville on Sept. 18. Since you aren't that far from Antioch, I would like to meet you. I was thinking that you, Julie Gray, Barb Krantz and I could all get together and swap stories. You hang in there honey, I know one girl has been approved with Cigna, your day will come also.
Love ya, Kathy
Hi Kelly, I was in the insurer section and ran across one person who was approved after the second letter, but it was 99 weeks getting that approval. She said working with Cigna is hard, but you have to just hang in there and wear them down. Best of luck sweetie, you want something so bad, fight them, wear them down. Kathy
Melanie and Kathy,
Thank you both for understanding and reminding me that most things happen for a reason.
I had a pleasant surprise today in that we had been told by management that we were being given a luncheon by them in the park. Well turns out, not only did they supply lunch for us, but they sent us home for the rest of the day after it was done. This meant I got to go see my daughter's first high school pep rally. She was thrilled and told me later she'd really been scared before she saw me.
Kathy, I am just down the road from Antioch so I'd love to meet when you come down.
Kelly
HI Kelly, I just found out last night that the two fitness centers for women in the Hickory Hallow mall area are called Curves. Anne Bills says to join it's $40ish and 30 a month. She goes 4-5 times a week for 1/2 hour. It's the two that my brother Don runs, Phillip my son who just got married, says Silvia is working there for baby money while he pays all the bills. She doesn't do anything heavy, but shows the women how to use the machines, and gets them started. Hope you will get a chance to check them out. Hugs Kathy
