I'm home and on the losing side!
Hi everyone,
I am home from the hospital after having the LAP RNY. I was so afraid my surgeon would have to open me up, but he said I must have stuck to the pre-op diet because my liver didn't pose any problems with seeing to do it LAP. I had the BEST nurses while there and the aids were also the greatest. I was on a general floor but found out the furniture & bed in that room & about 3 other rooms were for the bariatric patients and that the nurses that tend to you have been "trained" by Dr. Boyce on your needs and how to handle different things that may come up. I have never been so happy to be a loser in all my life LOL. Didn't tolerate the Atkins shake they brought up to me, had about 4 oz of it over an hours time and my pouch started doing flip flops, so they suggested I try some of the Nectar or protein Ice brands that were more like fruit juices rather than the thick shakes. I have some of these and am sipping on one now, hopefully it will be better tolerated. That's all for now, thanks for everyones kind words, this is a great support system we have here.
Greg
Congratulations, Greg! Welcome home, and to the losers bench! I'm thrilled to hear things have gone so well for you. Having great nurses makes the hospital stay so much better. Sounds like youve had a great experience thus far. Take the time to heal and follow your docs instructions. You'll do great! God bless ya!
