DENIED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no wy around the diet thing of 6 months.... So i go in Friday to Hodges office for my first offical weigh in...I freakin hate this bull****!!!! Good news .....it will be cover under the 200.00 i have already paid... What is the goal of this to actually loose weight or prove i can't? Anyone know?????? Michelle

No, I think that's wrong, for the 6 months it's to see if you can lose weight, but it also shows that you can't do it alone without major help. Of Course, I could be wrong, brain malfunction. Basically it's to see if you can stay on a certain diet program before they will invest in you. Honey, I'm so sorry that you are getting this denial run around. Love Kathy

Michelle, I am sorry to hear that you have been denied again. I too have CIGNA HMO and I have not gotten the first denial yet but expect anyday now.I think the diet thing is a way to stall the process!! Take Care, Lori

Lori... Thanks! I agree i think it is just abunch of bull really. I mean come one i can give countless dr visits with my weight but no spefic diet plan or "medical supervision" anyway i guess one day 6 moths will be over. I been fat for 35 years .... Good luck!! Michelle

The 6 month diet thing varies by ins co. Some want it done to see if you can lose weight and maintain the loss on a supervised diet. Others want to see how complient you could be considering after surgery you will be on a "diet" of sorts. However over all I agree with it being just a way for the company to stall the process. You will get through this phase. *huggles*

Michelle, They sent my paperwork off for my first appeal last Friday but as my doctor didn't make a note every single time I went in during my last 6 month diet, I am fearful they will not accept it. So, I go to see the dietician today and will be starting another 6 month supervised diet (with documentation by the healthcare professional at every turn) as of today. That way if I get denied, I'll be that much ahead. Kelly
