Angels??
You know I see on here all the time where people are asking for angels. A few times I have responded to let them know I would be more than glad to be their angel if they would like. I have emailed and posted a response on the board. Yet I never get a return response from the person wanting an angel. It really wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone chose not to have me as their angel. I just think it would be a nice courtesy to say yea or nea. Ya know?? Anyways Im stepping off my soap box now. *huggles*
I think it could be 3 things...
A. They might not of gotten your e-mail through obesityhelp.com
B. They don't know you because you don't post THAT often - Seeing its still the internet, they perfer someone they've atleast talked to or seen around the board often.
C. They got your e-mail but it might of gone to there "Junk Mail" section, instead of the inbox.
However, I may be wrong....
I reply to their post and send an email so even if they didn't get the email for whatever reason I still responded to their post. As to me not posting that often I think I do post quite a bit I might not post everyday but I do post atleast once or twice a week. Also even if they didn't want me to be their angel it would have been nice to get some sort of a response. A "thanks but I don't really know you" or whatever. I promise Im not in the least bit thin skinned. Not to mention, the woman that was my "unofficial" angel didn't really post that often just happened to be in the same town where I was having surgery. She not only let the board know how everything was going with my surgery but had also offered to open her home to my mother and nephew. I always thought that the whole point of the angel system was to have someone to be there for you, to answer any questions you might have, to let others on the board know how things are going with your surgery, and to lend support as you go through this journey. I guess I could be wrong about the whole angel system.
Dixie, honey, I don't know about the others, but I would be honored to have you as my angel. I am still trying to find a Dr. that will take me on. I have two seminars in the Nashville area in Sept. On the 20th I attend one for Dr. Oxley out of Franklin, TN, and the second one is on the 21st for Centennial. Dr. Oxley's office is sending me the packet to file out and send back to them prior to the seminar. The only thing I have to do is quick smoking 30 days prior to the surgery. I have all the letters from my Dr.'s all tests are done and I have those results. I do have to attend a nutrional class at the hospital. I am going to have Pam, his nurse set that up for me for when I am in the area. Save $55 bus trip. So if you want to be mine, I will be honored. I will need a phone # so that my son or family member can call you with the info.
Thank you Dixie. Kathy
Hey I just noticed what insurances you have and wanted to tell you that TNcare does provide free of charge transportation to all dr appts. So even if you did set up your consult at the next time you are in the area you could still save on the bus money. That is who took me back and forth between Clarksville for my appts and even took me the day of my surgery. (mom met me up there but was unable to take me by the time I needed to be there) *huggles*
