Update on Colopsypy (sp) and Biopsy
Well the good news so far is that from what the GYN could see I only have mild dysplasia of the cervix. The bad news is he couldn't see all of the cervix that he needed to see so he says that protocol says for him to do a LEEP procedure (Ill spare you the details of that) however it is outpatient surgery. He stated he could go ahead and do the biopsy but it would give a false security since there was a part of the cervix he needed to see yet couldn't. At first I was ok about this procedure then I started researching it and found out that it could lead to fertility problems and major pregnancy complications now Im worried about it. So just keep me in your thoughts. I have the procedure scheduled for next friday. Yeah Friday the 13th what luck huh. *huggles*
I am sorry you are going through this Dixie. I had Severe Dysplasia just 4 years ago and was scared to death. They did a pap then a repap then the punch biopsy that was the worst thing ever in my life pain wise. (I have had 2 kids c-section and the first was 43 hours of labor before the c-section) Anyways they said I had Severe and need a conazation and DNC. 4 1/2 months after the procedure I got pregnant with my second child. I don't know what a leep is. I hope all goes well for you. Take care of yourself.

Dixie,
Two of my friends have had the LEEP procedure and did fine. One went back to work the next day. The other got pregnant last summer and has a beautiful baby.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had a bad pap and had to go through the pregnancy knowing this. Six months after my daughter was born, I, like Tara, had to have a conization in 2 places on my cervix...didn't think there would be another child. Five years later I was proven extremely wrong when I delivered a 9 1/2 lb. boy who is now 14 and taller than me.
Best of luck, sweetie and you'll be in my prayers.
Hugs!
Jen
