Hey yall Sorry i have not been here lately.. I am just so over this bull**** of red tape. I will not go into it again but i will say after 4 weeks of waiting my PCP finally wrote a letter about my weight loss history. It was not what i was looking for again but i feel like it was a great letter. He went over my diet and health and weight history for the past 6 years and told these people i needed the surgery and the faster the better. To my surprise he had already sent it to the appeals dept. I just hope they accept this letter and approve me. It sux becuse my insurance pays fro the surgey, but the intracorp(pre cert people ) say i have to have the freaking diet history. I am hoping this letter works. I want to congratulate everyone on there losses and approvals... I am thinking of you all. Michelle

HI michelle. I have been working with a few people on their letters and appeals and have noticed that quite a few of the doctors letters I am reviewing are not really up to par. I believe the letters need to be very specific and use many key phrases, like medical neccesity , medical certainity, my considered medical opinion etc. In the end I would suggest if you are not happy with your doctors letter that you write one up yourself and just take it to your doctor and ask him to sign it or to tweak it as he sees fit . that way you will at least be assured the letter has all the necessary mumbo jumbo in it. I put mine up on my profile , feel free to make use of it or any part of it. good luck . heres wishing you a quick approval.

Thanks Joe I think really he did a good job and even used some of those phrases, but what i am most concerned of is...It is not a 6 months of weigh ins. This is actually the second letter he wrote. The first one the surgeon required and my pcp stated he was in agreement with me and listed all of my co morbids and yes he felt it was medically necassary. I was denied saying i needed the freakin 6 month diet history... What my PCP then did was write another letter to the appeals people stating that over the past 6 years.. I have progressively gotten worse and in my health and stated the ups and downs of diets i had tried and the failures and the weight i had put back on. and gave weights but it was not a consecutive 6 months it was a history of 6 years. So anyway...
