well how do i begin,just saying it looks like it is all over for me,i received a call from DR. HRUSKA office this morning and the nice lady on the phone informed me that DR.HRUSKA is no longer doing the surgery on anyone that is over 50 years old.Boy talking about a slap in the face......... i don't know what to do now.Please can anyone tell me of a DR. that will take my tenncare and do the surgery on 56 year old me.It really makes me so dam............ mad i just wanted to that lady and that dr. sorry but what do u do.I don't know! Hi Eva, I am so sorry that you were denied because of your age. She was next on my list of Dr.'s and I'll be 51 in September. Donna Cox is 60 and is having it done. So you might want to scroll thru the postings and fine her, she can probably help you. Best of luck sweetie, I know that frustration well. Keep trying is all I can say. Don't let one Dr. get the best of you. I've been denied 3 times, and I still have 2 appointments coming in 2 weeks with two different Dr.'s. I don't know where you live but there's a Dr. Digby in Elizabethton. That's near Johnson City. He turned my down, but he's only done 12. Here's his number 423-542-0400. You might give him a call. How far are you willing to travel? If you'd come to Memphis you could try Dr. Woodson, I'm not sure if he takes Tenncare though you'd have to call him. Otherwise you could consider doing the RNY Lap or Open and I know that there are DR's in TN that do that on patients over 50. Anne

Hi Eva, importment message coming your way. Call Dr. Oxly in Franklin, he does up to the age of 65. Takes Tncare, and here's his number:615-435-5980 talk to Pam. Seminar is Aug. 9, 23, Sept. 20 and 27. Stop smoking 3 days prior to surgery. Surgery is help at the Williamson hospital there in Franklin. That's about 10 min. south of Nashville. I called, I will take the bus over for the seminar in Sept. But that's going to put it real close to when my grandchild will be born. I will see what this other Dr. in Elizabethton has to say, then go from there. My case worker thru TNcare want's me to also check with Dr. Colquitt. She will call me back on Monday to find out what I know about these too. But give them a call, he may just be the Dr. for you. Let me know. love ya gal. Kathy

Hi Kathy, well about the DR. in Franklin i started thier first and he only does the RNY surgery and i did go to his seminar but of course that didn't work for me.Are you going to this dr.in Franklin,if so i will come by to see you when you have your surgery if that is ok.You have been so very nice i hope everything works out for you.I will try this DR.COLQUITT as soon as i can to thank you again.You have a bless day Eva

Hi Eva sweetie! I'm so sorry to hear that Dr. Hruska bailed on you, but please dont give up. We all experience bumps in the road hon and thats all this is. You simply move on to another surgeon. What!!!!!!!!!!! That is ridiculous, what life ends at 50???!!! How stupid is that, what is the reason they gave?? I mean that really ****** me off. You should contact your insurance company ASAP & find out as a contracted doctor is she allowed to do that. Please let me know if you find anything out, that is just infuriating! Hi Candi, I hear you,i was so mad,but i guess we are just at the mercy of these dr. you know.But i am not giving up not yet.I have talked to or left a message with one dr.not to sure about him though.And i sent an email to a DR. MADAN that i found on the OH site and they did send me a reply today asking which kind of Tenncare did i have. So that makes me feel a little more hopefull that they took the time to at least answer my email.Thank you so much for the concern.I will update as soon as i know something. Eva
