Need a FILL Dr in Ky or TN.....

Hello, I had my surgery June 3rd and I dont think I'm ready for a fill just yet but heres my deal. I live in Ky, my best friend had the surgery a year ago and used a Dr in Atlanta. So since she done so well and was comfortable with him I wanted to use him also. I seen him for the 1st time last October by the time I fought my insurance and got approval it was April 2004. So I scheduled my surgery for June. Well 3 days before my surgery the Dr office called to let me know I would have to have $3280.00 up front because the Dr was no longer in BCBS network as of 2004. Well needless to say that pissed me off but I did not want to reschedule my surgery so I borrowed the money. BUT at that time I asked how much out of pocket would I have to pay for my fills and they told me $180.00 since I have to pay 40% being out of network. SO....I call the Dr office last week to see about a fill the 1st of Aug, and they told me as of July the Dr has went up to $1000.00 and my part would now be $400.00 not to mention I drive 300 miles and the gas cost a arm and a leg....LOL. It has just kinda rubbed me the wrong way and I'm looking for a Dr that is closer thats IN the BCBS network that would do my fills. Hopefully I can find one that does them under fluro. Did you see Michelle's post on the lapband forum, she listed Dr. Morton's name & his number. Have you tried him yet? Also, if you go above to where is says "Find a doc" & look in KY & in TN, you should be able to find a list of lapband doctors that you can call. Hope that helps! Yes I did contact him today and the nurse told me he would take me as a new pt BUT he would charge me 400.00 because he did not do my surgery so he would treat me as self pay...LOL. So I'm not doing that when I can find a Doc to take my insurance. I have looked at the names on the DR board here but want to find a Dr that someone has used. Thanks

From what I understand most of the Dr's under the Bariatric Surgeons link have been used by Obesityhelp members. A few might have added themselves to the list but for the most part their names got put on the list because someone did an evaluation about thier visits and surgery with the doctor. If you click on the link of each doctors name it will have the comments from other AMOS'ers that used that surgeon. Hope that helps. *huggles*

Hi exactly what is a fill in? I never heard of this. Someone else was asking about it and I couldn't give them an answer. Best of luck to you, Kathy
