DENIED KMART SHOPPERS
well, looks like I will be needing suggestions as to what to include in my appeal packet...I was actually hoping I would be one of the lucky few that gets approval right away,,so much for that...but, I know I will eventually be approved, and I've been fat this long, whats another couple of months??? SUGGESTIONS PLEASE....hugs, Carol
I'm sooooooo sorry Carol, how dare they do that to you. I really am sorry. But I know you aren't going to give up, so get everyone to write a letter for you, and send them in all at once to you insurance. I called Dr. Spaw in Nashville, he doesn't accept Medicare, and Blue Care waiting list is 250, but his fee is cash only. Marked him off my list in a heart beat. I found that the letters from the husband and children really swayed the insurance for this other lady. Keep us up to date, Love ya, kathy
Carol honey I'm soooo sorry you were denied, but its just round 1. I know its easier said than done but try not to stress yourself out. Lots of folks get denied the first time around. I believe it is Joe here on our TN board that helps lots of folks with appeal letters. Send him an email and i'm sure he'd be happy to help you out. I'll keep you in my prayers sweetheart, and try to keep positive. Things will work out for you, I just know it! Please let me know if I can do anything for ya! God bless hon!
Melanie
Carol,
I am so sorry to hear that this happened. Hopefully they provided a denial reason in your letter. If so, make sure you address any open issues that they mentioned. There are lots of examples of appeal letters and advice on here. Just make sure that you get as much supporting documentation as you can to combat the denial.
Didn;t you mentione that you have BCBST State PPO? They use the medical necessity criteria and should provide it to you over the phone if you ask. If so, then try and address the issues and bolster it with any letters from medical professionals to support the claim.
Also, don't forget that Walt Lindstrom in CA Obesity Law Center. will pen appeal letters from a legal perspective but I think it's a considerable fee ...
I am so sorry to hear your news ... Hang in there!
