In the OFF very very OFF chance that I get (dare I say it?) "denied", I have been told to have my appeal letter ready. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should say??? Of course, this won't happen, but in the unlikely event that it does, I want to have my ducks in the same pond, or, something like that...hugs, Carol

Like I said who would dare refuse you. I myself would explain what is going on and that by having the surgery, that it will help in several areas of medical, and that in the long run it would cost them less, as you won't have to see a lot of Dr. or medications. One lady's husband, parents, grown children (meaning teenagers and up) all wrote to her insurance company pleading with the company to approve of the surgery. She was approved on the second letter. Good Luck Carol. PS, just called 1-800-ID-ALERT to update my medical information, and they urge all post-ops to register with them and to wear a necklace or the braclet saying Bariatric Surgery. The annul fee is 15.00, the necklace is stainless steal and is 14.95, she said it is vitally important that all be registered. If an emergency arrives they will see your medic alert braclet or necklace and be extra careful of finding out what the problem is. Best of luck to you Carol. Love ya Kathy
