I owe someone an apology
I wrote this weekend about being pissed at Dr. Wright's office for seemingly putting my paperwork in a pile and not knowing what to do with it it..................well, today I got humbled...............I called Lisa when I was at my PCP's for a check-up and was told my paperwork was mailed last Monday and the chart had just gotten back to her today from precert..................I promptly called both CIGNA and BC/BS to see if it had been received.................BC/BS told me right away they had no evidence of precert papers for GBS and gave me the fax number to the medical review department................CIGNA wasn't so easy...............it took them all day and me calling three times to finally say they had no evidence of precert papers for GBS................the third customer service rep I spoke with did however call the precert folks and got the name of a contact and their fax number.................I promptly called Lisa at Dr. Wright's when I got off the phone with CIGNA......................NOW GET THIS................not only was she still there, she was nice to me and took the numbers and contacts down for each and swore she'd refax the paperwork right away.....................so maybe my luck is changing...............on other fronts, my left heel started hurting about 1.5 weeks ago like a stone bruise...............but it didn't get better and even is sometimes hard to walk at all by the day's end...............my PCP did X-rays and diagnosed a heel spur on my left foot................I go to see a podiatrist next Monday to start tx.....................all in all, if I get denied the first time out, this is another diagnosis which was caused by being grossly overweight my whole life.....................thank you all for letting me whine and moan this weekend......................I am gonna be a good lil, patient girl now......................yeah right, lol, till tomorrow when I can start bugging both insurance companies again.......................have a great evening and love to you all.............................Kelly
Hang in there Kelly, it's hard to be patient, when you wanted it done yesterday. Been there, done that and still searching for another Dr. I have 4 possible, and an appointment with one on Monday. Don't give up, fight for what you want. The heal spur, is like a piece of glass. You may start off with cortizone injections. They can only be given 3-4 times a year. If the shots work, the spur will go away. If you're like I am and can't take cortizone, either live with the spur, or they do surgery. I've had one on my left heel since 1998. They can't do surgery on mine because of where it's at. Get it taken care of, you'll get your surgery when the time is right. Love ya, kathy
