Hello !!

Hi everyone .I am new around here,I am trying to find my way around I have my first consult with Dr Hruska on July 20th. I am beginning to get a little nervous. I would love to hear from anyone she has done surgery on . I would love to know any tips to prepare myself for after surgery. THANKS!!!

Good Morning Tammy! I had Dr. Hruska! I loved her! LOVED her! Dr. Hruska and her staff are really wonderful and they do go out of there way for you, atleast for me they did! My only tips is to listen to what Dr. Hruska says to do. Follow the diet that's given and the weight will come off! She'll also answer ALL of your questions and make sure this is what you want to do.... If you need to know anything else - feel free to ask me! I had my surgery March 24, 2004...... Good Luck, Katie

Thanks Katie, Dr Huruska has started some kind of group consult now where 3 or 4 people all come at the same time and she goes over stuff with them ,this is what my pcp has told me.How long did it take you to get your surgery date after your first consult ?I have all of my testing completed and I am hoping for an early date. Thanks!

Hey Tammy... I heard Dr. Hruska was changing things! She's become a pretty busy doctor since my journey started too.... Plus the gastric surgery, isn't the only thing she does! However, about getting your date - It all depends on how fast your approval letter comes back from the insurance company. And how many patients are already scheduled before you. My surgery was scheduled about a month after seeing Dr. Hruska but keep in mind I was already approved! Although, my date was canceled because they approved me for the wrong doctor! There was a mix up in the paperwork.... I was then approved for the 3rd or 4th time by insurance and finally got a date! Gosh, I was so afraid it was gonna get canceled again! LOL! I guess you can say my journey through all this - has been a bit different then most peoples! Oh well... it was worth it! Good Luck! And keep us updated.... -Katie

Hi Tammy, I also have my consultation with Dr. Hruska on July 20! I may see you there! My appointment is at 1:00. I had to my dietary consult, nutritional consult, and sleep study done before I go see her; anything else I don't know. I am nervous too. We have 2 more days before consult. I hope to see you there. Hi Lisa, My appointment is at 1:00 also I guess will be in the group together. Do you have very far to drive? I will have to leave around 9:00 to get there in time. My mother and my kids are coming with me . My mom wants to know everything the Dr says I think she is more nervous than I am. I guess I will see you there.

I guess maybe it is a group, I don't know as this is new to me too. I am driving from Shelbyville, TN. I am not sure what time I have to leave but I do have the directions. My sister and my husband is coming with me for support. I will see you there. Lisa

I was at the consult today at Dr. Hruska office. I think I seen you there but not sure. I was sitting near the computer beside my brother in law and another woman in red was sitting next to me. I hope all went well for you. lisa
