I had my first post-op appointment yesterday. Got on the scale and I've lost 16 1/2 pounds in two weeks. I was really happy and so was the doctor and the nutritionist. They said that I was ahead of the game by a couple of pounds. I don't go bac****il the 11th of August now. I've decided that I don't want to weigh myself at home until I go back. I am going to go join Curves this morning. They said that I can exercise and go back to work on Sunday night. I called my boss and she said that even though they put me at full duty she doesn't want me lifting or taking patients for a couple more weeks so she's going to give me JACHO stuff to do because we are being evaluated for our trauma certification this summer. I'm just so happy to not be at home. It was driving me crazy. Hope everyone has a great day and a safe one too. Love all of ya Anne

Anne, Sounds like you got a really great report. When I went back for my 2 week post op, I had lost 15 pounds so you are really doing great. You know, one thing I have found that I do is focus too much on the scales and find myself weighing at least 2 times a day so like you I am going to try to not weigh again until I go back for my 6 weeks post op which is next Wed. I am also really having a problem getting all the protein in because the shakes are beginning to really gross me out and I am trying to concentrate on foods high in protein. Have you had this problem and if so what did you do?

Rita, Dr McGrath told me about a shake she drinks. She said that she gets on of those new chocolate slim fast shakes for carb people and adds a table spoon of jello cheesecake to it and blends it with ice and it tastes like a chocolate cheesecake shake. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to. She said it has 20 gms of protein. Right now I'm drinking that no sugar added carnation instant breakfast with skim milk and it's 12 grams. Let me know what you come up with. Anne

That sounds so great, I'm so glad to hear you're doing so well! I know what you mean about being at home, it can get a little tedious! Keep up the good work & keep us posted! Candi
