Food scale shock!

Hiya family! I finally broke down today and purchased a food scale at Walmart. Of course, as soon as I walked in the door at home I started weighing what a typical meal would consist of for me. I was pretty shocked to see that I'm eating maybe 4 ounces and am stuffed with that. Meals are supposed to be 6 ounces. My guessing skills suck cause I thought I was getting around 6. I see Dr. Houston on Thursday and will stop in with the dietician and make sure its ok. If I eat more than that I get sick and stay nauseated for a half hour or so. Hate that feeling. On the up note, i'm 7 wks post op tomorrow and have lost 36 lbs. Thank you, O THANK YOU, Lord Jesus!!!!!!!! I'm definately having to cope with the changes in eating, not so much with what I can eat, but in the way I have to eat. You know, chew chew chew. Small bites. Waiting 5 minutes in between bites. I'm such a creature of habit. Its good to be back here among friends. Love you guys! God bless! Melanie

Melanie, That's awesome. I hope that I can do as well as you are. I was thinking about a scale, maybe I'll go get one too. I know what you mean by eating and being full. If you put one more mouthful in then it's nausea for the next half hour or so. I hate to throw up and am glad that I've only done it once since coming home from the hospital. I am having trouble getting all of the protein in though. Right now the only protein drink I can seem to stand is the carnation instant breakfast for carb people. It's 12 grams so I drink three a day. Then the meat I eat can fill in the rest. Talk to you soon Anne
