Hi. I have seen my surgeon and I know that I need to go and buy: Multi-vitamins with iron, Calcium supplement, Sublingual B-12 and some B-1. 1. What I need to know is what multi-vitamins are the best. Where do I get them? 2. I have read over and over that Tums is not the right kind of calcium. Is Oscal ok?? Or what is the best to take and where can I get it? 3. Where do I get the sublingual B-12 and the B-1? Does Walmart sell them? 4. Also...has anyone ever tried the protein powder they sell at Krogers?? Is it good? Since I am not able to work I would appreciate the cheapest place you know of that sells these items. Thanks for your time. Julie

Hi Julie... I suggest you listen to Dr. Hruska for now, no matter what "others" say. She has us buy... Chewable Vitamins, you can get them in Sugar Free @ Wal-mart by One-A-Day Bugs Bunny & Friends.... Tums with Calcium, Chewable.... You can get these in Sugar Free also @ Wal-mart! When I talk to her in July - I'm gonna ask her about taking something else. However, keep in mind I think she has us take tums for now because its easy to chew for now. Children's Tylenol Liquid, for fever reducer and pain reliver. About the B-12 - Dr. Hruska gives you a monthly shot OR you can go to your local doctor and get it, rather then taking the pills - Which since your trying to save money is the better option for you. About protein - I've never found one I liked. However, I do like the instant crantionation breakfast. They make a lowcarb/no sugar added one, pre-made. Make sure when you buy this - its in the blue box, not the yellow. You can buy the instant carnation breakfast in powder to and pour it in skim milk. I can't do it that way because I can't seem to keep fresh skim milk in my house anymore. Hope this helps!

No problem! Didn't Dr. Hruska give you a packet of information to read? About what to eat and etc? If so, there's a ton of good information in there! -Katie

thanks Katie for info. I heard in my seminar( a nurse asked the question) that the sublingual B-12 of course taken under the tongue and gets into the blood stream as fast as the shot. Do not know the price comparision however. And for those that do no like shots.... And for traveling also. Not easy to get the shots if you are out of the country. I plan to get my Bugs Bunny tomorrow, how cool, My grands will find one more thing strange about their Mimi. I am going into Knoxville for my mental eval. and plan to hit the walmart there. Our superstore does not stock enough of the sugar free tums, so most of the time the slot is empty.Have been using them for years since I am Diabetic. On the protein powders, if you use them, are all mixed with milk? Does our new stomach tolorate milk ok? I just gleemed lots from your post, thanks. Donna Cox
