I am soooooo relieved! I finished my sleep study last night at the hospital, slept all night with the cpap machine, and they are coming tomorrow to fit me with the head gear I've chosen. Then My wonderful husband/best friend/soulmate and I left the hospital and went directly to Dr. Spaw's seminar, HE IS WONDERFUL...The seminar was very very informative, and he made it interesting and fun. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and we really enjoyed it...At 2:30, I met with him in his office (Cumberland Center for Obesity/Dr. Husted's office) and he was awesome. He really listened to my questions, answered them thoroughly, and at one point, I asked a question he didn't know the answer to, and HE TOLD ME SO!!! (it was pertaining to wls and thyroid med after surgery) He talked to me as an equal, and NOT as a Dr with a huge ego in medical terms only a rocket scientist would understand. Then it was off to the insurance lady, who faxed, requested, and got the ball rolling right there in front of me....ALL WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE! She told me that my insurance co does require a psych eval, but I can choose who I want, as long as the test they administer is the one for WLS guidelines (which I checked and it is, AND it's only 5 bucks a visit,and I have an appt THIS FRIDAY!!!!!) I have gotten more done with them in that one day than I did in 6 months with my previous choice of a Dr/hosp. I AM THRILLED....I called my insurance company this morning, told them of my change, they said no problem so again, IM ON MY WAY!!! I'll keep "ya'll" posted, THANKS for the moral support...Hugs, Carol
