It's Summertime and time for...Amusement parks???
Yes I know its been a while since I last posted. Things have been busy. However, last friday I took my nephew to our local amusement park (he had a certificate for perfect attendence so he got free admission and free unlimited rides). So for the heck of it I thought about the different rides and figured yeah I might actually be able to ride a few with him and bought myself an unlimited rides stamp. The first ride we came to was this wagon ride that makes a complete revolution several times in one direction then does it in the other. I sat and stared at it for a while watching where the safety bar came down to and stuff. Finally I figured what the hell if the bar doesn't come down this won't be anymore embarassing than the time I couldn't get out of a hotel pool. (that story is for another time) So we go up sit down I hold my breath and suck in my stomach. The bar comes down and ill be damn if there was room between me and the bar after I let my breath and stomach out. I was so tickled. I haven't rode an amusement park ride since I was 21. So my nephew and I spent the rest of the day finding rides that we both could go on. We went on the scrambler, tilt a whirl, genie, ferris wheel, boat shoot, bumper car, pirate boat (safety bar was a bit snug) and haunted house rides. We went on the dumbo ride also but I think my weight caused his elephant not to go up as high as the others, but he was cool with it. We were going to ride the sky lift but as we started up the ramp I saw a sign with the dreaded words "max weight per tub 340 lbs" my heart just sank my nephew was absolutely excited about finally being able to go on that ride but we couldn't. He's about 50 lbs and if my PCP's scale is right Im 304. So I stopped on the ramp and told him we couldn't ride this one yet. He asked me why I told him we just need to wait a little while more. He goes ok and heads to a rollar coaster ride that I knew I couldn't ride. On the way over he gets a real serious face and says "why won't they let you ride the sky lift?" I told him once again don't worry about it maybe next summer we will ride it along with all the rollar coaster rides. All in all the experience was a great one. Of course I didn't bring my camera. I'm sure though we will be going back again this summer maybe ill remember it then. Catch ya'll later.

or go-karts!
I remember 4 years ago when I took my son to Gatlinburg for his 10th birthday...just the two of us. We had a great time. One of the things we did was ride the tram from G-burg to OberGatlinburg and then the chair lift to the top of the mtn. from the ski resort. I'm convinced the only reason we got on that was because it was February, freakin' cold, and we were the only two that were stupid enough to get on that blame thing!
Anyway, when we were coming home, we stopped by the Track in Pigeon Forge to ride go-karts. What in the world was I thinking? I think the cold from the day before affected my thinking! I get in this silly thing and off we go....we're racing...we're dodging....we're weaving...we're done....we're stuck. Or rather, I'm stuck. My son and I started laughing which made matters all the worse. Needless to say, I'm no longer stuck in a go-kart in Pigeon Forge, but I'll not try that again for a while!

I know how ya feel. I love roller coasters !! We live about 30 min from Dollywood and went a lot in the past and you know I really can't put a date on when we stopped ? I just know I can't ride much and it hurts to walk around for long. The last time I rode the water boat ride it was packed and they held up our boat till they could get an extension for my lap belt I was embaressed. My first amusment park trip is going to be Cedar Point in Ohio !!! You just wait and soon you can ride anything you want and have a ball !!!! You have come along way already !!!
Best wishes
