Dr Hurska help please?

I would just like to know who on this board has had Dr. Hurska and do you know if she is in the tenncare network i don't understand the difference but they can take tenncare and still not be in the network so what good is that?I did find out that she is doing the lap band,and they told me at her office that she takes tenncare.So whats up with that.Can anyone help please.thanks Eva

I don't know if she is in network whatever that is all I know is that she took the Bluecare that I have. Also when did she start doing lapband?? I know the surgeon that she shares an office with does lapband but the last I heard she is only doing open RNY. When I saw her last in April she was still only doing open RNY.

Eva, there is no difference. If Dr. Hruska takes Tenncare then that means she is in network. Calm down, call your PCP & have her/him set you up an appt w/Dr. Hruska. If she takes Tenncare then she will see you, but since she isn't starting the lapband until August you may have to wait a while, but it still wouldn't hurt to have your PCP set up the consult. That is actually something to consider, but not from a technical point of view. The lapband is a MUCH simpler surgery than the RNY, so I would feel comfortable w/any surgeon who's skilled enough to do the one to perform the other. The thing I would be a little wary about are the fills & the other complications. Hey Eva, when you go for your consult you need to ask her if she does her first fill under the fluoroscope, probably the best thing since she'll be new at the whole procedure. TTYS! Don't wanna sound rude but why don't you just call Dr. Hruska's office? Leigh Ann will answer any questions you have over the phone and she'll tell you what you need to have before getting an appointment. One last thing - Dr. Hruska isn't suppose to be doing Lap RYN till later in the year, atleast thats what I remember her telling me?! She suggested I waited for that but left the decision up to me! Hey Eva, After reading Katie's message you may want to find out of Dr. Hruska's office was clear on what you wanted. Katie thought you were talking about the Lap RNY, NOT the lapband, so hopefully this isn't what Dr. Hruska's office thought too. I think that's a good idea too, just call her office. Opps! I see my mistake now! I always get those confused when I'm just reading through a message. Duh @ Me! But now that I see she asked for a different surgry - I really suggest she just call. I know Dr. Hruska was suppose to go to some seminors and stuff during the summer to learn either Lap RYN or Lap Banding. It be best just to ask - I would for her, but I won't be at the office until July 13th!! Gosh I was I lived closer to Clarksville, I wanna weigh! Good luck! -Katie

Dr Hruska is in network for Tenncare and is just beginning to do the Lap Band.
