Pittman and Assoc Insurance

I was wondering if anyone has Pittman and Assoc insurance. I mailed my Psych eval, Dietitician eval, and something from my pcp to my insurance. Within 1 week, my insurance sent me a letter back saying that they required all of the above mentioned and (2) dr and nutritionist supervised diets lasting 6 months and they had to have been done 2 years prior to surgery. This SUCKS!!! All I have is a supervised diet last year and it lasted about 2 months. I am 23 and I hardly ever go to the doctor. I can get plenty of documentation of being overweight all my life. I was wondering if I typed up every diet that I have been on, when, how much weight I lost/gained and so on if that would count. I don't want to wait 2 years, my goal was to get this surgery out of the way were I could then look at having kids when I am around 25 or 26. Anyway, I just was wondering if anybody had any suggestions. Thanks, Karin

Hi Karin, The only thing I can suggest for you to do is - Talk to your PCP. I'm sure some where in your file shows you on and off again on diets. Maybe then your PCP can write something for your insurance company. Just a suggestion! -Katie
