Hiya Michelle. All i've heard during this process is general anesthesia. I cant imagine someone going through this surgery with an epidural. Certainly not for me anyway lol. Get some sleep gf!!! God bless ya hon! Melanie

You can actually have both. Before my surgery in March the anestheologist (sp) came in and asked me which I prefered. I asked him what is usually done. He told me general. That occasionally someone wants the epidural. I asked him which did he suggest. He said the general since the epidural placement for this particular surgery is a bit harder to get than for a woman in labor since you are having to numb the upper abdomen not the lower abdomen and pelvis.
