Sorry I can't be of much help as I am still pre-op, but maybe you could post this on the main board, loathe as I am to turn someone (anyone!) away from our growing board, but there are lots more members on there w/lots of experience. Please keep us posted. Candi

Hi Dusty, This is a normal stage, atleast for me it was. I use to get so weak and out of energy but the more I drank water the better I started to feel. When are you allowed to eat stuff like yoqurt, cottage cheese, broth, creamed soups, and stuff like that? It gets better sweetie - I promise! Just keep remembering that you just had a MAJOR surgery and it does take time to recovery. By the way, CONGRATS on the 27 pound loss! That is AWSOME! Keep up the great work. -Katie

Push your protein and eat items slow to digest (i.e. cottage cheese, eggs, etc.). Eat a little oatmeal or cream of wheat with your breakfast (1/4 cup or less - cooked). Try a little unsweetened apple sauce with your dinner. A tablespoon helps make pureed food taste better. Ocean Spray makes a line of light fruit based drinks that are 10 grams of sugar or less. Water them down and drink them slowly. The little sugar boost will help. Walk or ride a stationary bike at least 5 minutes at a time. I am six weeks post-op and 75 pounds lighter. I, too, suffer from 'sinking' spells. Get outside and enjoy the weather. Do anything to get your mind off of your recovery. Finally, if you are diabetic you need to check your blood sugar levels constantly. You should consult your primary care physician if they are too low about getting off hypoglycemic agents (diabetes pills) or decreasing your insulin. Hang in there. There is a big light at the end of tunnel.
