Insurance help please

hello, my name is Eva Ortiz and i am new to this and hoping to have surgery,but i am concerned about my insurance (Tenncare Select) has any one elsa had this and did you get approved,if so how long did it take.If you have advice or help please post and let me know Thank you Eva

Eva, I am fairly new to all this myself, but I will pass along what little info I have gathered. You might want to check your policy, and see if they have a Weight Loss Surgery clause. Some policies absolutely will not cover it, and it is plainly stated. Some policies will cover certain types of weight loss programs, like mine will not cover any "non surgical weight loss programs"...Start there and look at your policy and see what it says. Another thing I found helpful is to look on this website (Obesityhelp.com) at their insurance page. There are hundreds of people with my exact policy, and some of them got approved right away, and some did not...It's a crap shoot Eva,,depends on who's looking at your claim, and how it's coded...Good Luck, hope this has helped. Hello Eva! Call Dr. Hruska & Dr. Steely's office in Clarskville, TN - They take TennCare Select. However, be ready for a waiting list but keep in mind while your waiting to see one of them, you can be getting all the tests done that need to be finished before they can send your paperwork to insurance. i have a consult scheduled with Dr. Hruska on July 20th. I have already had my dietary consult. I go for my psych Monday and my sleep study on May 20th. I have to have these done before July 20th. lisa

Eva, I also have Tenncare Select. I got me a case manager and she has helped me a lot. I've got a surgery consultation set for August 3rd. I will be seeing Dr. Lindy Hruska. She is in with Dr. Steely, but he doesn't take the insurance we have. I am almost finished with my pre-testing stuff so I am going to call and see if they can schedule my appointment for a sooner time. Lots of luck! Julie [email protected]
