Psych Evaluation

Hello everyone..had my psych eval started yesterday. I wasn't sure what to expect so I went in opened mindedly. As the questions were asked I answered. As the Doc is writing on the paper, she kept looking at me and shaking her head. I don't know..I just didn't get a good feeling about it all. I was there for a hour and still not done with the thing. The Doc just kept looking at me and shaking her head as if to say "No wonder this poor woman is FAT! Her life is so screwed up!."So the time ended and she asked me how I felt ..I said Sad. again she just shook her and made the sound...you know the one you make when you can't believe what you are hearing.
What was your experience? Can the Doc say I am not fit to have the surgery eventhough I have overcome sooo much in the past 10 years?

Hi there. I had my psych eval last Friday. It lasted 3 hours. I was expecting 1 hour. I think the lady probably thought i talked too much and wished she could find my off switch. I wished I could find my off switch. Anyway now I have completed everything and now one week later I"m anervous wreck waiting to find out if I"m approved. This is a whole lot harder than I thought. The waiting I mean. I don't think you have to worry about them saying you"re unfit for surgery. If you seem to be a functioning person getting by in todays world I imagine you will pass.

Keep a positive attitude and hold your faith in the lord and he will carry you through.   I had to take the same test.  Plus three months of nutrition observation.  You ladies can do it just keep the faith.

wow i must be lucky my eval was 10mins when i had it. they asked me a few questions and then i was out of there and he said i know you will be fine with it. just keep thinking everything will be fine. she might be feeling bad for you and that all.
 

Please dont let this deter you I had to take the same test.  And I did fine.  Just put your faith in the lord and he will carry you through.   He is a loving and faithful god.  If you need to talk at anytime feel free to msg me.  [email protected] is my email.  Just stay positive!!!!!!

In my experience through support groups, some people have been delayed to have the surgery.  I have never see someone denied and turned away.  I can see them delaying the process while you meet with a specialist in order to help with some issues that came out during the evaluation.  Good luck and hope you get approved soon.

Thank you so much for the kind words....I never thought about being denied. I do go back Friday to finish up with the Eval. I am hopeing that Doc will be able to see what I have over come ...have 10 yrs sobriety, and have delt with family issues and such...It was just a very uncomfortable situation to be in. Hopefully next visit wont feel so uncomfortable.
