Memphis Area

I'm in Arlington too but have decided to go with Dr King in Oxford. I started by going to Dr Woodman's seminar but he no longer does gastric bypass, so I decided to switch. Do y'all know if there is a support group around here?

 As of right now I don't know but feel free to hit me up anytime since we are in the same area......

I attend a support at St. Francis 2nd Thursday of every month at 7pm (or 7:30).  Also psychologist's support group at same place 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm-7:30 pm.  All free sessions.

Hey Ya'll.  I'm in Germantown.  I had the Lap Band done by Weaver almost 1.5 years ago.  I go to a support group meeting once a month in Oakland...not far for most of you....We meet at a friends house...It's just 3 of us, but we would love to have more join in.  I am the only lap-bander.  The other 2 gals have had the RNY.

Hello all!! I am in Southaven and going with Dr. Fore at Baptist Desoto. I was going with Dr Woodman and was doing my 6 month visits with my GP. After about 3 months into it, I was talking with the woman that weighed me (at Woodman's office) and she rubbed me the wrong way big time. I am not talking about her hurting my feelings but when I told her something she did not listen to a word I said. More to it but no need to go there. They maybe okay just after that conversation, I couldn't see putting money in that woman's hand. I have heard that Dr. Woodman was direct but good. You know they deal with a lot of people and excuses, so I can't blame him but she I can.
Dr. Fore had just recently been approved by my insurance, was closer to me, and I had heard some good things about him from my back Dr., GP and did some research on him.
I can't believe there are not more support groups here in the Memphis area.

HI DO U NO IF DR FORE TAKE BLUE CARE INSURANCE

Wow.  I've never even heard of Dr. Fore.  I thought my only options were Weaver (out of network) and Woodman.  I'm going to check my insurance to see if Fore is an option.  He should be.

hey guys i live in memphis, and i had the sleeve done in feb this year,which was done in mexico as self pay.. I have heard alot about both doctors.my aunt actually used ms weaver and he loves her.. woodman is good but like everyone one says his bedside  manner is horriblle.  i too as going for the band until i found out about the sleeve, I loe my sleeve and happy i made the choice. i have lost 120 in 8 months and still losing..
