Moving ahead...with a dizzying rush of emotions!

I had my consult with Dr Williams today, and he said I was looking at a possible late October, early November surgery date.  I know that seems a way off, but I know time has a way of moving on!
I went in all set for RNY, but *gasp* he is recommending VSG. Now i have to start to obsessive learning process again.  LOL
Would love any comments, good or bad, and 1+ years out would be GREAT!!  Thanks guys!

I don't know a lot about VSG except that it's simply a restrictive procedure rather than malabsorptive - but, you have the option of completing a DS down the road since you'll already have the DS tummy (just not the 'switch').

Good luck to you - these next few months will fly by and these are my biggest recommendations for pre-ops:

- research, research, research (lifestyle, expenses, etc.)

- deal with food issues NOW cuz it sure doesn't get any easier postop

- surround yourself with positive people including support groups

- prepare to do what you're told. it may not always be easy but it will work!
